Christmas 2014

Papa!

It is the second christmas without you papa and exactly 14months since you left. And it is not merry et all. I miss you every single moment, but now I  have learnt to live with the "invisible you". Its not fun but you are there ..is more worth...

Chutki beti dedicates this to you....( She actually sang it!)

You better watch out
You better not cry
Better not pout
I'm telling you why Santa Claus is coming to town

He's making a list And checking it twice;
He's gonna find out
Who's naughty or nice
Santa Claus is coming to town

He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or GOOD
So be GOOD for goodness sake!

You better watch out!
You better not cry
You better not pout I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town

Santa Claus is coming
Santa Claus is coming
Santa Claus is coming
Santa Claus is coming to town

Love you Papa!

Know Cancer, Prevent Cancer

Cancer of the gallbladder is one of the cancer with a extremely poor diagnosis. Most of the gallbladder cancer patients die within one year of the detection.

Gallbladder cancer shows a large geographic variation and is comparatively common  in females and in certain ethnicities . Gallstones are the most common cause of this type of cancer.

After much research, certain risk factors we’re identified :
  1. Smoking
  2. Alcohol
  3. Obesity and certain specific dietary habits
  4. In women, reproductive history also seem to be the prominent reason.
Keeping close watch on the symptoms, knowing the various risk factors and taking preventive measures can help preventing cancer( to some extent, else their is no specific reason -anyone can develop cancer).

If detected early, cancer can be treated.

Although gallstones are closely associated with high risk, and most people with untreated gallstones over a period of time develop infection and eventually cancer. But there have been cases where gallstone didn't cause any harm and people with gallstone have lead an absolutely healthy life.

Aging is an inevitable process and many factors like genes, lifestyles, diet and environment determine longevity. Cancer generally occurs when body has weak immune system- at old age that's when body is already fighting many disease(s) and surgery is not always the option. People who have cancer in family tree are the most common victims.

After Gallbladder Surgery

If your doctor has suggested for removal of gallbladder.  Then it is better to get it removed, so as to avoid a lot of problems. Major being the inflammation of gallbladder which may turn out to be cancerous.

Function of gallbladder

The gallbladder collects bile, a fluid that is produced by the liver, and releases it when you eat to help the breakdown and absorption of fats. Between meals, bile collects in the gallbladder and is concentrated. When the gallbladder is removed, bile is less concentrated and it drains continuously into the intestine. This affects digestion of fat and fat-soluble vitamins in the body. How much -the problem depends on the individuals health. With time, the body ofcourse gets adjusted and becomes better at digesting fats.

What to eat after gallbladder removal surgery?
  1. Eat in small portions frequently.
  2. Include small amounts of protein, along with whole grains, vegetables and  fruit and  grains.
  3. Avoid fats
  4. Include fiber in your diet. Start in small amounts and then gradually increase it.
  5. After gallbladder surgery, many people find it difficult to digest caffeine or dairy products. So be careful!!
For more queries, even your silliest doubt -ask your doctor. He is the right person. Remember one can live without gallbladder but some care is obviously required.
